News & Announcements

       Guest Speaker - September 30th

On SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH, Mittineague Congregational Church will welcome GUEST SPEAKER, MARY ANN MARZANO, creator of ORGANIC CHANGE FOR HAITI, a non-profit organization to support an orphanage called Dada's Place in Haiti.

This is Mary Ann’s story… Supporting an orphanage was never in Mary Ann’s life plan. But her curiosity for other cultures led her to Haiti and a friendship with Dada’s Place. Then, in the early Spring of 2016, Mary Ann was told of Dada’s work and agreed to help out. She then booked a trip to Haiti to check out the situation first-hand. What she found saddened her. Needs that Mary Ann had never thought of, such as beds, schooling, high quality food, fuel for cooking, solar panels, etc., were not being met. None of this reflected badly on Dada. As is everyone else in Haiti, Dada is doing the best she can with limited resources. Once seeing this, Mary Ann could not turn her back on the needs at this home and is now looking for support to help her in this mission.

Please consider attending worship on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH, to hear Mary Ann's story first-hand and donate to a very important cause. You, too, can make a difference in the lives of so many children.

For more information, please visit the ORGANIC CHANGE FOR HAITI Facebook page or the website at www.organicchangeforhaiti.org.

Once again, this fall, Mittineague Congregational Church will participate in a GLEANING (gathering produce after a harvest) to support RACHEL'S TABLE.  Since 1992, Rachel's Table, of Springfield, has been working to alleviate hunger and reduce food waste in Western Mass.  The date will be SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7TH.  We will be leaving at approximately noontime. All church members and friends of the church are welcome to attend.  A bus will be provided for transportation from the church, to the farm, and back.  Contact Christian Education Director, Lauri Osip, at 413-734-1290 for more information.

Our 2nd Annual TRUNK OR TREAT event will be held on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27TH from 3 PM to 5 PM in the back parking lot of Mittineague Congregational Church.  This event exceeded all expectations last year and we need your help to make it even better this year.  We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to decorate their cars and pass out candy.  Displays can be as elaborate or as simple as you like.  To sign up, or for more information, contact Christian Education Director, Lauri Osip, at 413-734-1290.
